International impact

The generosity of our supporters has allowed our partners to establish Savings Groups, provide members with business training, and implement financial infrastructure in communities that have been marginalised.

The programmes have had an immense impact on the lives of Group members, their dependents and their local communities. Over the last twenty years, our programme partners have supported over 260,000 people. Now, our partners are working to reach even more. Read our latest Impact Report, where you can learn more about the international impact our programmes have. Currently, Five Talents works in the following countries: Bolivia, Burundi, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Myanmar, Rwanda, South Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.

Impact by the numbers

The programmes have cumulatively supported over 260,000 members - transforming families worldwide. Over the last two decades we have learned that sometimes establishing financial services alone is not enough for communities to transform and build a brighter future. Now, many programmes offer literacy, numeracy and business skills training, trauma counselling and parenting skills courses. Below is a snapshot of data across the countries where we are currently working.

Some of the greatest impacts Groups have are not financial. Members who have not been able to attend school learn to read, write and count. They gain confidence, create stronger and more connected communities and establish more equal partnerships in their homes. To learn more about the impacts Groups have on members & communities please meet some members. You can also visit our blog to see what a Savings Group looks like or attend a literacy lesson.

An international presence

Five Talents UK is part of Five Talents International, along with Five Talents USA (based in Virginia) and Five Talents Kenya (based in Nairobi). Our three country office teams work closely together, sharing knowledge, resources and funds. In broad terms, the UK and US offices focus more on fundraising whilst the Kenya office focuses more on technical support to our implementation partners. All three offices are equal members of Five Talents International but are also legally-registered independent entities in their own countries.
