Diversity & Inclusion Policy

Five Talents is committed to equal opportunities, diversity and inclusion policy and practice and will ensure that all employees and service users, both actual and potential, are treated equally and as individuals regardless of age, disability, ethnic or national origin, nationality, gender, gender reassignment, marital or civil partner status, pregnancy or maternity, political belief, race, religion or sexual orientation (the protected characteristics). The aim is for our workforce to be representative of all sections of society and for each employee to feel respected and able to give their best. The organisation is also committed to preventing unlawful discrimination against supporters and programme members. Find out more in our full policy here.

Code of Conduct

Five Talents has a Code of Conduct which all UK staff, board members, volunteers and overseas visitors must adhere to.

Language Audit

In 2020 Five Talents’ UK team began assessing our language. As a staff team we feel it is imperative to address all forms of injustice, including racial injustice, and we’ve been exploring how to decolonise our minds and our practices including our language. In July 2021 we finalised our language audit. We know there may be some terminology missing and recognise this will never be a finished product. We will continue to review our language as the nuance of particular words evolves. This is the most up to date version of our language audit.

Environmental Policy

Five Talents is committed to combating climate change! We began tracking the number of airmiles we fly from 2021 and now make a charitable contribution to environment charities once annually. You can download our Sustainability Statement here to learn more about what we’re doing in the UK and through programmatic work to increase resilience and combat climate change.

Child/Vulnerable Adult and Safeguarding Policy

At Five Talents we are dedicated to protecting vulnerable people, which is why we have comprehensive Child/Vulnerable Adult Protection and Safeguarding Policy. We know that policies have to be more than words on paper. It's what we do with them that will determine whether they are effective. We are committed to ensuring that our safeguarding measures receive the appropriate time, attention and dedicated resources to be effective. You can download our policy here.

Complaints Policy

Complaints can be lodged against Five Talents if supporters, partners or key stakeholders are dissatisfied with some aspect of our services or actions. Our Complaints Policy ensures there is a straightforward process for complaints to be handled effectively and fairly. Read the full policy here.
